Meet The Founder

When he was young, Ethan has had a passion for building & refinishing. His dad, Brendan Carpenter (a well-known carpenter in the Greenville area) taught him the tools of the trade early on in his life and they stuck with him ever since. During his school years, Ethan spent his weekends refinishing wooden doors & entranceways with his partner and friend Latra Collick - continually building on his trade and refining his ability.


He loves a good challenge and finds the labor of woodwork & painting to be a continually evolving challenge that can grow him as a person. A beautiful finished product means more than a thousand words to him, unless those words come from his happy & satisfied clients. Whenever Ethan has free time, he uses it to train in boxing & jujitsu, to read or write books, listen to podcasts, and much more. Ethan will be your point of contact throughout the entire Blue Nile experience and he is more than excited to talk with you.

The Service Based Approach

It can be said that most people, but not all, will go in to business with the primary goal of making money. While I do not have an aversion to making a great income, I started this business with a totally different idea in mind. To serve others first and to put the money on the back burner. I believe that money invariably follows in the trail of providing invaluable service to others. As Napoleon Hill puts it - "You can start right where you stand and apply the habit of going the extra mile by rendering more service and better service than you are now being paid for." These words are ingrained in the culture of this company and we strive to consistently live up to the service based approach. So what exactly does this mean? It means that we prioritize your happiness. If you aren't happy, then so aren't we. The primary goal of this business is to serve others, in whatever way possible.
